I created some card back designs a long time ago for a game called Armor & Ash. To be honest, I’m not sure what happened to the game: I got hired to create a few card backs, got paid, and never heard anything about the game being launched. Which is a shame, because it had some really great art and seemed like a fun game.
So here are a few preliminary sketches I made when working on the Ghob-ling faction card back. The concept was a twisted, bramble border, very primitive-looking, with a witch-doctor-type mask in the middle.
And here are card backs for the other three factions: Vikings, Elves, and Undead.
